Here in Central Texas we’ve got it pretty good. The weather’s nice most of the time and there’s plenty of delicious, locally grown and locally made foods and drinks we can enjoy year-round. And last week Edible Austin hosted a week-long series of events to spread the word about and celebrate our local growers and manufacturers. A great big “Thanks, y’all!” to everyone who attended and participated in the Eat Local events around Austin. Through your participation you also helped raise money for Urban Roots, a youth development program that uses sustainable agriculture to transform the lives of young people and increase the access to healthy food all over Austin. How cool is that?! A triple scoop of gratitude to our friends at Edible Austin and Better Bites of Austin for hosting these events and for all they do to bring our growing community together.
